Curaçao car rental FAQ.
Everything you need to know before you rent a car in Curaçao: requirements, insurance, airport delivery, fuel and more.
What's the minimum rental period?
We require a minimum of 3 days for all rentals. That gives you time to explore Curaçao at your own pace.
What do I need to rent a car in Curaçao?
A valid driver's license, a credit card in the main driver's name for the security deposit, and you need to be at least 21 years old.
Is a credit card required?
Yes. You need a credit card to rent, and a security deposit applies. You can pay for the rental itself online with Visa, Maestro or American Express, or choose Pay later at checkout.
Is insurance included?
Third-party insurance is included. At checkout you can add extra protection: Standard ($6 a day, $850 own risk), Intermediate ($10 a day, $400 own risk) or Premium ($19 a day, no own risk).
Do you offer airport pickup?
Yes, and it's free. We deliver and collect your car at Curaçao International Airport (CUR) and send you meeting instructions after you book. How airport delivery works.
Can you deliver the car to my hotel or villa?
Yes. We deliver and collect free of charge at your hotel, villa or any address on Curaçao.
Do I need a flight booked to reserve?
No. Flight details are optional. You can add them later or send them to us on WhatsApp.
Can I take the car to other islands?
No. Our cars must stay on Curaçao.
What should I do after an accident?
Call Forensys right away on 199 or +599 9 747 1333, then let us know. Our 24/7 line, +599 9668 2260, helps with accidents, flat tires and lost keys.
Can someone else drive?
Yes. Add an additional driver at checkout for $5 a day. Every driver needs a valid driver's license.
Are child seats free?
Yes. Baby, child and booster seats are free. Just ask for them when you book.
What is the fuel policy?
Return the car with the same fuel level you received it with. Missing fuel is charged at $5 per liter.
Can I cancel my booking?
If you haven't paid yet, cancelling is free. Prepaid bookings have a cancellation fee of $50 to $100, depending on how close to pick-up you cancel. See our terms.
What happens if I return the car late?
A late return is charged as one extra rental day. If your plans change, message us and we'll help.
Which side of the road do you drive on in Curaçao?
On the right, like in the United States and most of Europe. All our cars are automatic, which makes it easy.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday 09:00 to 21:00 and Saturday 09:00 to 19:00. On Sunday we do pick-ups and drop-offs only. Roadside help is available 24/7.
What currency are prices in?
US dollars. You can switch to euros at checkout. Rates are before the 9% Curaçao sales tax (OB), which is shown in your total before you pay.
